It’s been a tremendous few weeks for the female alumni of SLSG Metro (Metro United).  Mariah Klenkle was named Ohio Valley Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for her performances with the University of Tennesse-Martin.  Senior Jesse Crabtree tallied two goals in Southeast Missouri’s season opener.   Freshman Rachel Tejada is off to a blistering start at Illinois State University scoring 2 goals and 2 assists in her first week, which led to her being named New Comer of the Week.  She followed up this amazing first week with a hat trick in the Red Birds defeat of DePaul University leading to her being named Missouri Valley Conference Attacking Player of the Week.  She has scored multiple points in her first five matches with Illinois State.

Sophomore Megan Pawloski scored two goals in her first ever start for the fighting Illini helping propel her team to a 5-0 trouncing of Oregon.  Allison Menchak scored the game winning goal in Bellarmine's victory over Kentucky Wesleyan.  Congratulations to these SLSG Metro Alumni who are continuing the long tradition of our female players succeeding at the next level.

Additionally, this week SLSG Metro is proud to announce its’ first female professional player as former Tess Givilsky signed with Finnish 1st Division team Kokkolan F10.  Signed as an attacking midfield player to help the club avoid relegation, Gilvilsky delivered in her first match scoring 2 goals to help the club to a 5-1 victory.  Congratulations to Tess and her family as she is a testament and example for our young female players.
