SLSG Metro Academy Playoff/Showcase Action

The 94 SLSG Metro Academy team earned a draw against a very good California Development Academy in Dallas on Sunday evening. Faik Hajderovic opened the scoring early in the first half to give SLSG Metro the lead but CDA scored late in the game to equalize. SLSG Metro tied despite having to play 30 minutes a man down due to a questionable second yellow to Alex Rinella for diving. The 16s resume play today with an evening encounter against Cosmos West Academy from Los Angeles.

The 92 SLSG Academy dropped a tough game to Westin (FL) 0-3. The game played in a strong Texas wind and 100 degree heat was a battle to the end. At 0-1, Metro had some near misses to equalize but Westin eventually wore down the boys from Illinois. SLSG Metro is now in 2nd place in the group with 3 points, 1 point behind Westin and Chivas who are tied for first. SLSG Metro needs a win and a little help from the last place Michigan Wolves to advance to the National Championship in Milwaukee in mid July. After a much needed day off, the 92s play Chivas before returning home.

Both teams were attended the FC Dallas vs Portland Timbers match after their games. The MLS match was won by FC Dallas 4-0.
