SLSG Metro is pleased to announce the formation of the SLSG Metro Juggling Club. Ball control is the foundation of all soccer skills and one of the best ways to improve control is through juggling. Juggling helps develop touch, balance, coordination, body control, concentration, confidence, and imagination with the ball. Time is limited in weekly team training sessions. As such, players must practice juggling on their own if they wish to become total soccer players. According to SLSG Metro Director of Coaching, Jeremy Alumbaugh, "Juggling forces kids to get into their own work and focus on the problem at hand, keeping the ball in the air without using their hands. It allows for deep, meaningful technical repetition." In an effort to encourage such self-training, the staff at SLSG Metro has developed the SLSG Metro Juggling Club. The program is designed to provide a goal-setting system that can be utilized to measure gains as well as achieve significant improvement in technical skill and overall comfort with the ball.
Players who achieve the prescribed benchmarks will receive various levels of recognitions. The above document outlines the program, guidelines and its’ bench marks. We are very excited to start the program and look forward to recognizing our players juggling achievements. Any questions, please contact Zack Evans at zevans@slsgsoccer.com.
