We are off and Kicking

The Fall 2011 season is off to its start. The annual CSK Showcase in Muscatine, IA marks the beginning of the year for the older teams, the 17 Boys, 17 Girls and 18 Girls collectively went 5 wins and 2 defeats over the course of the event. More importantly, a ton of college coaches were present, a number of college coaches identified our players as the kids are moving forward with their college selections.

The August SLSG Metro coaches meeting was held, Monday, August 8. 47 SLSG Metro teams were represented at the meeting. The agenda for evening included:

1. Over view and State of the Club address from Director Dale Schilly

• Past Year Success --16G MRL Champs, 18B Academy Frontier Conference Champs, 13B PA youngest SLSG Metro team to qualify for Nationals, U14B PA NAtional Champs
• Identified change in direction from USSF regarding player development
• Shared a model to help develop successful training over the season

2. Dave Strickfaden, owner Fitness Design.

• Concussions
• ACL Injury Prevention
• Treatment and rehab opportunities with Fitness Design

It was a very informative 2 hours. The entire staff is extremely excited to build on last years successes in the upcoming season.
