Meet the Latest SLSG Metro Coach

"I really look forward to coaching for the same prestigious program that I once had the privilege to play for."~Jessie Crabtree

One of the most gratifying aspects of directing one organization for so many years is welcoming former players back into the club as coaches.  We have seen a number of former players return and give back into the organization that gave them so much.

This spring we welcome Jessie Crabtree back to the SLSG Metro Family.  I first saw Jessie  in the summer of her U15 year playing on our Super Y League team,  and the first thing I noticed was her competitive nature.  Still today, Jessie loves to compete, loves to be better than the next person and loves to win.  She held true to her own high standard her entire club career.  Jessie was a worker, making it to all of our training sessions and games, swimming competitively, running cross country, excelling in the club soccer world and graduating number 1 in her class.  Possibly the most significant detail: She excelled in all of these areas while living in Marion, IL, 2.5 hours from the fields!

After a storied career at Marion and Metro United (now SLSG Illinois), she played at University of Missouri where she was a starter on teams that won two Big XII Championships.  She then transferred to Southeast Missouri State where they were crowned Ohio Valley Conference Champs.  After her playing days, Jessie successfully coached three teams in Cape Girardeau, MO: a U9, U10 and U15 girls team.

Jessie's enthusiasm and passion for the sport and club is contagious.  There will be some very lucky girls who are going to get to work with Coach Jessie! ~Dale Schilly
